Midalidare Estate Carpe Diem 2013
-Grape Varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, and Syrah

This is 21st century Bulgarian viticulture in a bottle, an adventurous and thoroughly international blend designed to pamper and please the palate. Bright ruby in colour with garnet hues, the lifted and fragrant nose of cherry, red berries, and damson is supplemented by oaky vanilla, hints of leather, and ever more fine fruits on the palate. Supple and juicy with fine-grained tannin and a clear structure, this is a poised and very elegant wine. Out goes Soviet rustiness, this wine resembles more a feminine Left Bank Bordeaux. Carpe diem if you must, do not overlook its age worthiness.

Ca. 16 degrees Celsius

Cured and smoked meat (Schwarzwälder Schinken, Jamón serrano, and prosciutto crudo); pâtés and terrines; medium-hard cheese (Emmental and Gruyère); alternatively, enjoy as conversational wine
